Tip 1
Strip before you sand
Veneer is thin - the less sanding the better, we recommend using a paint stripper as your first step!
Tip 2
Colour Correction
Using a wood stain (or a variety) will allow you to correct uneven patches. This is will ensure all your hard work doesn’t go waste. No one likes a patchy table!
Tip 3
Final checks are a must
Whatever finish you choose make sure you do a final check. Applying a white spirit will highlight any imperfections you may have missed. Remember once you apply your finishing product that’s it, the colour is locked in and you’ll have to start over again if you’re not happy!

Cleaning your new piece
Whether your piece is finished in Danish Oil or Hard Wax Oil to clean use a slightly damp cloth to clean and do so gently in the direction of the grain - no chemicals please!

Keep it looking *fresh*
How to maintain your piece (relevant for pieces finished in Danish oil only)
- Scratches

- Looking dull
Danish oil is your answer wipe on wipe off or as per the instructions on your chosen product.
